This Privacy Policy describes how ProApps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the WeightMate Nutrition mobile application (“the app”) on iOS and Android. The app is published by Bradley Emerson under the developer name ProApps.
By using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Our approach: minimum data, user-owned feedback
WeightMate Nutrition is designed to give you useful feedback about food you log and — if you opt in — how blood glucose readings on your phone may relate to those meals. We aim to collect the minimum information needed to run the app.
We do not ask for medical diagnoses (including whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes), medications, insulin doses, provider information, insurance details, or other clinical health records. We do not provide medical advice or treatment recommendations.
Information we collect
The categories below align with data types we disclose in App Store and Google Play privacy labels where applicable.
Contact info
- Email address — to create and sign in to your account (via our authentication provider).
- Display name / username — if you set one in the app or shared WeightMate account profile.
Identifiers
- User ID — issued by Supabase Auth, used to sync your nutrition data and link your account across devices. The same account may also be used by the separate WeightMate fitness app.
Nutrition and food logging (user content)
- Food diary — meals, foods, portions, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, timestamps, and related notes you enter.
- Macro targets — daily calorie and macro goals you set.
- Custom foods, recipes, and barcode foods — items you create or save, including barcodes you scan.
- Meal photos (optional) — if you use meal photo analysis, the image is sent to our server for AI-assisted food identification; only the analysis result and your confirmed log are retained as part of your diary unless you delete them.
This is food and nutrition logging data, not a medical record we create about you. We do not collect separate “health condition” fields.
Health platform — write (optional)
If you turn on Write to Apple Health / Health Connect, the app writes meal and macro summaries you logged so other apps (for example WeightMate fitness) can read them. This is optional and controlled by you in Profile and in system settings.
Health platform — blood glucose read (optional, device-first)
If you turn on Glucose & meals, the app reads blood glucose samples from Apple Health (HealthKit) or Android Health Connect that your CGM, meter, or other apps have already written there. We request this only through the platform permission screen; you can revoke access anytime in system settings.
Important — what we do with glucose data:
- Raw glucose samples are cached on your device only, encrypted, for retrospective charts and analysis.
- Computed summaries (for example peak, rise from baseline, time to peak, per-food patterns) are also stored on your device in encrypted form.
- We do not upload raw CGM streams or glucose outcomes to our servers today.
- We do not use glucose data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
- Data from Health may be delayed (for example several hours when synced from some CGMs). The app is for looking back at patterns, not real-time treatment decisions.
Information stored on your device
- Preferences (theme, score visibility, glucose settings)
- Offline caches (USDA food catalog, encrypted glucose cache)
- Terms acceptance flags
- Credentials in secure storage (session tokens)
Information we do not collect
- Diabetes type or any medical diagnosis
- Insulin doses, bolus amounts, or carb ratios
- Prescription or medication lists
- Doctor, clinic, or insurance information
- Precise location
- Contacts, photos (except meal photos you explicitly submit for analysis), microphone, or browsing history
- Advertising identifiers or third-party ad SDKs
- Payment card numbers (if paid features are added later, billing is handled by Apple or Google)
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Store and sync your food diary, targets, recipes, and barcode foods
- Calculate informational scores (for example fullness and protein scores) from food data
- Optionally write nutrition summaries to Health platforms you authorize
- On your device only: correlate meals with imported glucose and show charts and summaries
- Run optional meal photo analysis when you request it
- Operate, secure, and improve the app
- Respond to support requests you send us
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for third-party advertising or to build a medical profile about you.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app:
- Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and storage of account-linked nutrition data (food logs, targets, recipes, barcode foods). Glucose data is not stored here today.
- USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts — food search queries (not your identity) when you look up foods.
- Cloud AI provider (via Supabase Edge Function) — meal photo images you submit for optional analysis.
- Apple and Google — app distribution and, if you use them, platform health APIs under your control.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. If the business is sold or merged, we will provide notice where required.
Data retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active.
- On-device glucose cache — rolling window (approximately 90 days of samples), then trimmed automatically.
- On-device glucose outcomes — kept until you disable glucose features, clear app data, or uninstall.

Your choices and rights
- Access and edit: Most diary data is visible and editable in the app.
- Glucose import: Turn off in Profile → Glucose & meals, or revoke Health permissions in system settings.
- Health write: Turn off in Profile or revoke platform permissions.
- Account deletion: Follow Delete account & data or email us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us to exercise them.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for cloud data, access controls, and row-level security on user data. On-device glucose caches use encryption. No method is 100% secure.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us to request deletion if you believe a child provided data.
International users
Information may be processed in countries where our providers operate (including the United States). By using the app, you consent to this processing as described here.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
